Better Days Ahead is a project dedicated to celebrating the music of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays. The group features seasoned jazz musicians: Tim Gauthier on guitar, Chuck Landgraf on drums, Alan Sparks on bass, and Randy Miotke on keyboards. Tim brings over 20 years of jazz guitar experience and has studied with renowned guitarists Mike Stern, Dave Stryker, and Corey Christiansen, adding depth to the group’s sound. The band was formed in the fall of 2024 after a jam session where the members found themselves immersed in the high-energy music of these two influential and beloved jazz artists. The name Better Days Ahead is inspired by the title of one of Pat Metheny’s most uplifting and brilliant compositions, which remains a highlight of the group’s repertoire.
